I remember the first chimney I purchased for my kitchen was a Faber chimney, and today I’m going to share my thoughts about it.

In this Faber chimney review, I will provide you with all the information you need to know about Faber chimneys, including its customer service quality, chimney performance, and most importantly, the best Faber chimneys to consider buying in 2023.

Faber Chimney Overview:

I have already discussed why a kitchen chimney is necessary and when it comes to buying a chimney in India, Faber is a well-known brand, headquartered in Fabriano, Italy. However, Faber not only deals in chimneys but also offers water purifiers, gas appliances, water heaters, dishwashers, and other kitchen appliances.

Since this article is specifically focused on Faber chimneys, I will not be discussing other kitchen appliances.

Faber offers a variety of chimney types and designs with prices ranging from INR 6000 to 60000+. Here are the different types of Faber chimneys available in India:

  • Faber Island Chimneys: This type of Faber chimney is the most expensive and is ideal for open kitchens where the countertop is in the middle position. An island chimney hangs from the ceiling above the kitchen countertop.
  • Faber Wall Mount Chimneys: Wall-mount chimneys are ideal for kitchens where the countertop is attached to the wall. This type of chimney is available in two sizes – 60cm and 90cm – which are commonly preferred in India.

Under the wall mount type, Faber manufactures different designs of chimneys, including pyramid chimneys, inclined (angular) chimneys, and curved glass chimneys.

Faber pyramid chimneys are older designs and are relatively inexpensive (priced under INR 10000) and come with a filter, while inclined chimneys only come in the filterless model and have a moderate price. In the curved glass design, Faber offers a variety of filterless and baffle-filter chimneys.

Since I have only experienced Faber wall-mount chimneys, the review of Faber chimneys will be based solely on wall-mount chimneys. Now let’s dive straight into the main review…

Things you may expect in Faber chimneys:

1. Variety of models: Faber manufactures a variety of models in all types of chimneys that gives you a lot of options to select the best chimney for your kitchen. However, It may also confuse you to make a decision between two similar models of chimneys. Don’t worry, later I’ll also tell you the best Faber chimneys in 2023.

2. All essential and latest features: Most Faber chimneys come with Auto-clean technology, an oil collector, 1-2 led lights, a 3-speed motion level, and touch and gesture control. Few Faber chimneys also come with an I-clean technology that can notify you when to clean the chimney.

3. Affordable price: This is the best part of the Faber chimneys. Most Faber chimneys are affordable and do not cost you an arm and leg like other chimneys brands. For Indian kitchens in wall mount type, most chimneys range from INR 6000 to 20000.

4. Moderate to high suction power: The power of a chimney to remove smoke and gases is known as its suction power. Most Faber chimneys have a suction power of 1200m3/hr, which may not be ideal for kitchens that produce a lot of smoke and grease. However, there are very few Faber chimneys available with a suction power of 1500m3/hr. Although I have not faced any issues with the suction capacity at 1200m3/hr, it would be better if it were slightly higher.

In Pyramid Faber chimneys, the suction power does not exceed 1000m3/hr, which is not recommended for kitchens that cook oily food and produce a lot of smoke.

5. Moderate Noise level: Higher suction power comes with loud noise in a chimney. In fact, some chimneys may produce noise that may annoy you while cooking. The ideal noise level in a chimney should not be more than 58 dB and most Faber chimneys range in that but a few users also complain that their Faber chimneys make slightly higher noise.

6. Great Performance: This is another positive aspect of Faber chimneys. After reviewing several Faber chimneys and gathering feedback from others, I have found that most Faber chimneys have delivered excellent performance. Most filterless chimneys with auto-clean technology from Faber work incredibly well.

7. Less warranty period: Most Faber chimneys come with the same warranty period i.e. 1 year for the product and 5 years for the motor. For a few chimneys, the warranty may exceed for a couple of years but it’s still less compared to other brands’ chimneys.

Faber Customer Support:

Customer support and service are one of the most important things to look for in a company. Let’s talk about how good Faber’s customer support is…

In my opinion, customer service is AVERAGE.

If you purchase a Faber chimney online from Amazon or Flipkart, it is less likely that the brand will contact you for installation. In my case, I had to contact them to install my chimney.

After purchasing a Faber chimney, if you wait for their customer call for installation, you may end up waiting and experiencing delays in installation. It’s better to proactively approach them and request installation.

Now there are a couple of ways to contact and connect with Faber. The best and easy way to call on 18002093484 and ask about your queries and register yourself as a user. You may also mail them to ks-customercare.in@franke.com for Installation and ks-faberkart.in@franke.com for general queries and other services.

There is one more way to get in touch with Faber easily i.e via the Chatbot. Just visit faberindia.com, at the bottom you’ll see a chatbot where you have to answer a couple of questions and then any Faber team will contact you shortly. And, it works great.

I have contacted Faber multiple times and all their contact methods are active. However, when it comes to service and service staff, Faber lacks in some areas, especially in rural areas, and you may experience delays in their service. Overall, 75% of users have appreciated Faber’s customer service.

Should you buy a Faber chimney?

After reading this Faber chimney review so far, if you’re unsure whether to buy a Faber chimney or not, let me help you out.

Well, if you’re looking for a great performance and affordable chimney for your Indian kitchen, you may consider buying the best Faber chimney that we’ll feature next. Although the warranty period and customer service are not much satisfying in my view, the chimneys’ quality and performance are worth praising.

Once the installation of the chimney is done successfully, there is less likely you will face any issues in the chimney for the next few years. However, be sure to purchase the best Faber chimney that is available today.

5 Best Faber Chimneys for Indian Kitchens in 2023:

Now, I’m not going to confuse you by featuring too many Faber chimneys. Instead, I’ll be showcasing only those chimneys that have shown incredible performance and no issues so far. However, before selecting one, you must have a chimney buying guide.

1. Faber HOOD POLO IN HC SC BK (filterless)

Source: Amazon

This is the first and the best Faber chimney because of its excellent performance and very affordable price. It’s a filterless chimney, available in both sizes; however, here I featured its 60cm size.

Top specifications:

  • Suction power (moderate): 1200m3/hr
  • Noise level (very low): 58 dB
  • Touch and Gesture control (3-speed levels)
  • One high-intensity led light
  • Auto-clean and oil collector
  • Warranty: 2 years on product and 8 years on motor

This chimney is one of the new models in Faber having an Italian design and made in India.

2. Faber HOOD PRIMUS PLUS ENERGY HC SC BK (baffle-filter)

Source: Amazon

This is a very high suction power (1500m3/hr) Faber chimney that also comes with a baffle filter. It’s available in both sizes, here I’ve featured the 90cm chimney. This chimney is ideal for a kitchen that produces lots of smoke.

There are a couple of reasons why I consider it the best Faber chimney. Not only it has super high suction power but the price is very affordable compared to other chimneys. Additionally, unlike other chimneys, it comes with an I-clean technology that notifies you when to clean the chimney. The I-Clean technology senses the grease and notifies you when it needs cleaning.

Please also note that it has very high suction power so the noise level will be also high.

Top specifications:

  • Suction power (amazing): 1500m3/hr
  • Noise level (a little high): 59 dB
  • Touch and Gesture control (3-speed levels)
  • One high-intensity led light
  • I-clean technology and oil collector
  • Warranty: 2 years on product and 12 years on motor

You may also get this chimney in 60cm by hitting the above-price button which has less price than it.

3. Faber HOOD ORIENT 3D IN HC SC FL BK (filterless)

Source: Amazon

This is again a filterless chimney but it comes with the same I-clean technology that we have seen in the precious baffle-filter chimney. So the chimney will automatically remind you when to press the auto-clean button and clean the chimney.

It has moderate suction power but works fast to remove all the smoke with its 3-way silent suction. Moreover, it also produces less noise compared to other chimneys.

Top specifications:

  • Suction power (good): 1250m3/hr
  • 3-way silent suction
  • Noise level (low): 58 dB
  • Touch and Gesture control (3-speed levels)
  • One high-intensity led light
  • I-clean technology and oil collector
  • Warranty: 2 years on product and 12 years on motor

It’s available in both sizes 60cm and 90cm, here I have featured the 60cm chimney.

4. Hood Polo HC SC FL BK (filterless)

Source: Amazon

This is again the best Faber chimney available today because of its great performance and very affordable price. It’s a filterless chimney and available only in 90cm size.

This chimney does not have any I-clean technology or extended warranty that’s why I featured it at last but according to price and quality, it takes a spot in the best Faber chimney in 2023.

Top specifications:

  • Suction power (moderate): 1200m3/hr
  • Noise level (low): 58 dB
  • Touch and Gesture control (3-speed levels)
  • Two led lights
  • Auto clean technology and oil collector
  • Warranty: 1 year on product and 5 years on motor

Well, if you’re looking for a 90cm filterless affordable chimney (under INR 15000), I guess this could be the best chimney for you to consider.

5. Faber HOOD JARVIS HC SC BK (baffle-filter)

Source: Amazon

This is another Faber baffle filter chimney but it has an inclined/angular design available only in the 60cm size. The performance of this chimney is great so far but I found it a bit expensive.

Top specifications:

  • Suction power (moderate): 1200m3/hr
  • Noise level (moderate): 59 dB
  • Touch and Gesture control (3-speed levels)
  • One high-intensity led light
  • Auto clean feature and oil collector
  • Warranty: 1 year on product and 5 years on motor

The performance of this chimney has been great over the years. However, the downside I found with this chimney is the average suction power and warranty period, which could be slightly higher.

Faber Chimney Installation Cost:

If you’ve selected a Faber chimney, your next question might be about the installation process and associated costs, right?

Let me tell you…

As it states, once you order a Faber chimney, the Faber team will contact you for installation within 2 days. However, in my opinion, this doesn’t happen frequently. A better option would be to proactively call them first to avoid any potential delays in installation, which can occur with Faber chimneys.

You can contact them for chimney installation using the methods I have discussed above. In Faber, the installation charge is fixed at INR 600 all over India.

While enquiring about Installation, you will be also asked about the ducting kit and whether you want to purchase it from Faber or elsewhere. The complete Faber Installation kit cost you INR 1200-1300 and includes Aluminum flexible pipe (length-8.5 feet), Cowl 1pc, Clamps 2pcs and Screw & wall plug for installation.

Source: FaberIndia.com

The price of ducting kit is reasonable for all the materials it includes and you better purchase it from Faber itself. However, I’d never recommend you buy a Faber chimney from its site. You’ll find its chimneys’ prices are higher than the listed price on Amazon and Flipkart. You better make a purchase either from Amazon or Flipkart.

In total, the complete installation of your chimney with the Installation kit should not cost you more than INR 1800-1900. If it does, you may complain to Faber customer care.

Faber Chimneys Pros and Cons:

Pros
  • You get a wide variety of chimneys for Indian kitchens.
  • It offers the best chimneys at affordable prices and comes with all essential features.
  • For a few chimneys, there is an I-clean technology where you get notified when the chimney requires cleaning.
  • For a few chimneys, you get an extended warranty period (2 years and 12 years on the motor).
Cons
  • The customer service of the company may be lacking, and delays in installation and other services could occur.
  • You have to separately pay for the installation kit.

Faber Chimney Alternatives:

When it comes to chimneys, Faber is not the only brand available in India. There are several other brands that offer great chimneys in the Indian market, and it’s worth exploring them before making a purchase decision for a Faber chimney. Let me share with you some of the best chimney brands in India…

Elica chimney:

Similar to Faber, Elica offers a wide variety of chimneys for Indian kitchens (mostly filterless) that are affordable in price and have great quality. The best part of Elica Chimneys is it may offer you a free installation kit for a few chimneys and the installation is also quick. However, in any Elica chimney, you will not find any I-clean technology that comes with a few Faber chimneys. You may read our full Elica chimney review here.

Hindware chimney:

Hindware is also a well-known company in India that also deals in chimneys. You get a variety of kitchen chimneys (mostly in baffle-filter) at an affordable price and with great performance. The good thing about the Hinware chimneys is, it offers a great warranty period for all its chimneys but a few of their chimneys may produce annoying noise even at lower suction rates.

Kutchina chimney:

Kutchina offers expensive and good-performance chimneys in all ranges. This chimney company doesn’t have too much variety in the curbed glass chimneys that I featured above. For other types of chimneys, you may take a look at its site. Kutchina chimneys have a very high electric consumption rate, and also customer-service is not up to the mark. Soon, we will publish an honest review of the Kutchina chimney after experiencing it by myself.

Conclusion:

All in all, Faber chimneys offer great performance with the latest features and affordable prices for Indian kitchens. You can find a wide variety of chimneys to choose from. Although there may be occasional delays in their service, Faber chimneys are generally worth considering for use in your kitchen.

I hope you enjoyed this Faber chimney review and found it helpful. Now I’d like to hear from you:

Are you going to buy a Faber chimney? If so, which one are you considering?

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to ask. I’d love to answer.
